Perhaps you're like us. You've subscribed to Netflix, you have the ability to instantly stream all kinds of movies and TV shows but you want to be careful about what you watch. You may have children and you're discerning about what they see and hear. Sure, you've put in your preferences into the Netflix website, but still they often suggest inappropriate movies or simply miss the mark of what you're really looking for. Here at Family Friendly Netflix it is our mission to recommend to you wholesome, enjoyable entertainment available on Netflix. Primarily we will be recommending instantly stream-able movies or TV shows that meet this criteria. Some of our "All Time Favorites" (see page below) however, are only available on DVD.
If that sounds like you, then get yourself some pizza and coke and gather the family together for an enjoyable and safe movie night using the following suggestions. By the way, our children are 14 and 17 years old now. If you have very small children some of these picks may not be your first choice.

Based on a True Story...

The great Ingrid Bergman plays the real life Gladys Aylward in this 1958 classic.  Gladys Aylward, convinced that she belongs in China as a missionary, overcomes huge obstacles and embarks on an incredible adventure as a single lady serving as a missionary and teacher in northern China.  When Gladys arrives in China she partners with an elderly English lady to open the "Inn of the Sixth Happiness".  Soon Gladys' real character begins to shine forth as she bravely leads a group of a hundred orphaned children out of harm's way as the Japanese invasion of China encroaches.

And yes, it is based on a true story, which makes it all the better!
